Architecture

The ‘gärtnerei’ (‘plant nursery’) building – which was designed by the architectural firm of EM2N Architects, Zurich – is accessible via Zurichberg Strasse. The main building is three- to four-storeys high, and is distinctive due to the unusual roof and building form, which permits a variety of apartment types with different orientations. The direct relationship between the ‘gärtnerei’ and the copse to the south is in sharp contrast to the expanse of the park, which to the west opens up towards the city. The light-coloured wooden facade creates a modern and innovative impression. Three separate entrances provide access to a total of twenty flats. The basement includes a communal parking area. The accommodation includes 2.5-room flat, a spacious 6.5-room flat, as well as four 1.5-room studio flats in the basement. The ceiling heights are generally 2.6 meters, rising to 5 metres under the roof.
